Hi, my name is Ariel and I'm a dreamer... just not much of a do-er. Whether it's something simple like getting my toddler to sleep in her own bed all night (ok, maybe this isn't simple), or something more complex like starting my own business so I can work from home, I am constantly thinking about doing these things, but I never seem to get off my lazy a** and do anything about it! So, I'm hoping this blog will help motivate me. Here's a little bit more about me...
I'm a small town 20-something gal, born and raised in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest (literally up on a mountain on 160 acres with the closest neighbor a mile away). I went off to college with no clue as to my place in this world - yeah, sure I had "dreams" (i.e. who doesn't wanna become rich and famous someday?), but nothing I could really put my finger on. Soooooo, I got my degree in psychology (it interested me so why not?), landed a job in the Sales/Marketing department at a local TV station (yes, completely unrelated to my degree), and then married Andy, my high school sweatheart and the cliche love of my life, on 06/07/08. On 07/08/09 (I love numbers!) we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Leila Jade, into this world. After a short, but oh-so-sweet maternity leave, I returned to work full-time while my hubby finished up school. Fast forward a couple of years... on 10/21/11 I gave birth to our 2nd child, Landon Drew and once again, after a short, but oh-so-sweet maternity leave, I'm back at work. So here I am now. A wife, a mother, a hard-working M-F 8a to 5p employee. But... I want more.
This brings me back to dreaming. For as long as I can remember, the only thing I knew I wanted to do in life was become a mom. I remember playing with my baby dolls as a child and thinking about the future, when I would be an adult with "real" babies. As far as career dreams, I had no clue (and still don't). So, since I am now a momma I can say that I have already accomplished my dream. Leila & Landon have filled my life with all of the delicious joy and completeness I could have ever imagined, but I continue to wonder "What's next?" I truely, madly, deeply believe that there is always room in ones life to dream and to DO. I've got the dreaming part down, so now it's time for me to do. Join me on my little journey as I try to knock out some of my bucket list and maybe along the way I will discover what some of my dreams are and make them happen... we shall see!
First comes love & marriage (06/07/08)...
Then comes a baby (07/08/09)...
Then comes another baby (10/21/11)...
